Challenging the beliefs about what we’ve been told about a “fit body” social media can make it feel like having a 6 pack and a perfectly flat stomach is what is needed to be seen as “fit and healthy” so I want this post to reminder that you are not less of an athlete or less worthy because you don’t have a shredded 6 pack like that person you follow online. A strong capable body isn’t determined by how many lines show on your body or how flat your stomach is🦋

isn’t it crazy that... we spend so much time comparing to what we see online? This is a post to remind you what a real and unfiltered life looks like, not just sharing the best pictures but also the side often not shown online.

As a coach my goal is to help women build a healthy relationship with both fitness and their bodies and I will always share my real and unfiltered journey with you.

I hope this post encourages you to smile more and compare less. I’m here to help you make 2026 the year you stop comparing to single snapshots online and instead start appreciating everything your body enables you to do❤️

It feels like having a 6 pack and a perfectly flat stomach is what is needed to be seen as “fit and healthy” so this post to remind that you are not less of an athlete or less worthy of being confident in your body simply because you don’t have a shredded 6 pack like that person you follow online. A strong capable body isn’t determined by how many lines show on your body.

I’m proud of what my body allows me to do and I may not love every picture I see of my physique but it doesn’t take away from what my body can do.

So this is a post to remind you to be a little kinder to yourself and to show how different your body can look in different angles and at different points of the day, please don’t let one snapshot make you question yourself or pick yourself apart. There would have been a time I didn’t share many of the photos in this post as I would have believed I didn’t look “fit enough”

so I will keep exposing myself and not just share the “best angles” or version of my physique in the hope it’ll help you appreciate your body more💛

welcome to the side of the internet where we celebrate our capable bodies more and compare less to split second photos and clips we see online✨ I’m training for a full Ironman next month, I’m a healthy 70kg fitness girl who has been training for 6 years and is the healthiest she has ever been and whose goal isn’t to be as shredded as possible… it’s to be the healthiest, fittest and happiest version and to maintain a physique that enables me to live a balanced life along the way.

People often don’t realise that low body fat % on most women can cause the body to down regulate in a response to this and shut down several non-essential functions to conserve energy for survival. You can also loose bone density, body heat(I was cold all the time in prep) energy levels non existent and loss of a regular cycle due to no longer ovulating.

There really is more to life than being super shredded🦋

Your body doesn’t have to look a certain way to prove what it can do. Yes someone can have a 6 pack and be healthy but someone can not have a 6 pack and also be healthy. Being lean isn’t the problem or isn’t something that should be demonised but believing you have to be lean to be healthy, fit or worthy is. I spent years thinking that getting leaner was the only way to show I was making progress. And yes I was disciplined but that discipline eventually came with losing my cycle, being incredibly restrictive with food and feeling like social plans had to fit around my meal plan.

Now I eat more, I fuel properly, I recover properly, I have food freedom and yes my body looks different because of it but honestly? I have more respect for my body now than I ever have.

Not because I think it looks “shredded”but because of what it allows me to do. For me, progress now is being able to fuel my body properly, train hard, recover, have a regular cycle, enjoy food and actually live my life alongside my goals. Gaining 9kg hasn’t meant I’ve gone backwards. I’ve just stopped measuring progress by how small I can make myself💛
