Bitcoin Knots developer Luke Dashjr claims major exchanges are selling “fake bitcoins” by supporting the SHA-256 chain after the recent hard fork ⚠️

Dashjr argues exchanges that do not operate their own full nodes may be following the wrong chain and calls the SHA-256 version “Spamcoin”.

The fork permanently changed the new chain from SHA-256 to BLAKE2b, making existing Bitcoin ASIC mining equipment incompatible ⛏️

Major exchanges have not listed the forked asset, while a small venue briefly traded it under the BTCB2 ticker with extremely weak liquidity.

Miner support also failed to materialize, with signaling peaking at only 2.53% versus the 55% threshold needed for the proposed fork 📉

Since the September 1 split, hashrate on the new BLAKE2b chain has continued to decline, leaving Dashjr largely isolated 👀

The main Bitcoin network continues to attract miners and traders while the fork struggles to gain meaningful market or industry support 📊

Today's Pill - a blockchain fork needs broad exchange, miner and market support to establish legitimacy, not simply a competing technical vision 🔄
