This is the part of building with AI that nobody shows you.

I spent some time fixing my email assistant. Out of a bunch of emails that got sent out only a few of them were wrong and ended up not using the client’s correct name in place of the variable.

@braintrustdev helped me solve that by setting up traces and using its patterns feature where it grouped all the issues for me so I could see the affected instances. Ultimately it helped me track down the issue and resolve it.

I changed a few lines in my code, reran the test, and could actually see the fix working correctly!

Testing your application is working correctly is so important, now more than ever.

Meet the Halliday G2 glasses 👓

Jack asked how I always know what’s going on before he does. Easy 😉

I feel like we are living in the future with tech like these. They offer live translation assistance, and during meetings they record everything for you. THEN give you the summary with a transcript to reference later.

Green tests do not mean your code is safe. Do this instead 👇🏻

CodeRabbit reviews every pull request the moment it opens. It reads the diff and walks you through what changed. Its secrets scanner flagged the hardcoded key my agent wrote into a client component, before anything was merged. When I pushed the fix, it reviewed the PR again and marked the finding resolved.

It covers more than PRs. The Security dashboard maps your repo’s attack surface and shows how much of it is verified. AI Deep Scans go through the whole codebase, and Findings sorts every issue by severity and points to the exact file and line. You can see what to fix first and where.

AI writes the code now. CodeRabbit helps you check what actually ships.

Home office vibes | Is coding still worth learning in 2026? ⬇️

Everyone keeps asking me this.

AI writes code now. Agents open pull requests. Your cousin built an app over the weekend without knowing what a variable is.

So is it over?

No. But the job changed.

Typing code was never the hard part. Knowing what to build, why it breaks, and whether the thing the AI just wrote is quietly wrong. That’s the job now. And it’s harder to fake than ever.

The people struggling in 2026 aren’t the ones who can’t prompt. They’re the ones who never learned the fundamentals and can’t tell good code from confident code.

The people winning? They understand systems, they ship fast, and they use AI like a very fast junior dev who needs supervision.

So yes. Learn to code. Just don’t learn it the way people did in 2019.

Learn to think like an engineer. The tools will keep changing. That part won’t.
