Parents, loving your adult children doesn't mean you have to keep paying their bills.

One of the most important things you can teach your children is how to take financial responsibility for themselves.

Health insurance is a perfect example. Yes, you can keep your adult children on your health insurance until they're 26. But if they're working and have access to benefits through their employer, it's time to sit down together and compare their options.

If their employer's plan offers comparable coverage at a reasonable cost, it may be time for them to take on that responsibility.

And if you can afford to help them make the transition, I have no problem with that. But don't continue paying out of guilt or habit.

Remember, your job as a parent isn't to carry your children financially forever. It's to help them become strong enough to stand on their own.

Taking care of your health today is one of the smartest investments you can make in your retirement.

Exercise and a healthier diet aren't just about how you feel right now. They're about giving yourself the best chance at a retirement you can truly enjoy.

Of course, there are diseases and health challenges far beyond our control. But the choices we make each day can make a difference.

The better you feel, the more energy you'll have to enjoy your retirement. And entering retirement in better health may also mean spending less on health care.

Remember, it's not just about having enough money to retire. It's about being healthy enough to enjoy the retirement you've worked so hard for.

Retirement Savings Tip: Spend the least possible on needs.

One of the smartest ways to find more money for retirement savings is to take a closer look at what you're spending on everyday necessities.

When you need to replace something essential, spend as little as you can without sacrificing quality or safety.

A car is a perfect example. Buying more car than you need can put a serious strain on your finances. If it's time to replace yours, consider a reliable used car instead of a new one.

And don't stop there. Apply that same thinking to groceries, clothing, and other everyday expenses.

Remember, every dollar you don't spend unnecessarily is a dollar you can put toward your retirement savings and your future financial security.

In times of uncertainty, remember this: You are your own greatest rescuer.

When markets go up and markets go down, don't let fear or greed make your decisions for you.

Don't sell out of panic. Don't buy out of greed. Trust your plan, stay disciplined, and remember that you have the power to control how you respond.

You don't have to predict what the market will do next. You need to trust yourself and have the courage to stay grounded.

✨ Repeat after me:

I am my own greatest rescuer.
I do not sell out of fear.
I do not buy out of greed.
I invest with courage and discipline.

Sometimes what feels like a missed opportunity is actually you protecting your future.

A woman wrote to me feeling like she'd failed because she didn't follow her boyfriend's advice to risk everything she'd spent decades building on one stock. Then the stock skyrocketed.

But here's what I want her—and all of you—to understand:

You did not miss your future. You protected it.

You've built a fortune over time, little by little—not by one stock that's skyrocketed.

Trust what you've built. Trust yourself.
