Shenzhen is living 10 years ahead in the future 🤯

Humanoid robots.
Self-driving taxis.
Food delivered by drones.

And all of it in a single afternoon.

We took our EuroTech Federation delegation across the border from Hong Kong into Shenzhen.

I've been following China's robotics ecosystem for years.

But seeing it in person hits differently.

Here's what we experienced:

🤖 LimX Dynamics: developing humanoid robots and embodied AI systems that bring intelligence into the physical world.

🌍 51WORLD: building digital twins, simulation environments and synthetic data infrastructure for physical AI.

🚕 Pony.ai: experiencing autonomous driving technology firsthand.

🚁 Drone food delivery: watching autonomous logistics move beyond PowerPoint presentations and into everyday life.

🏢 Tencent: visiting the headquarters of one of China's biggest technology companies.

The craziest part?

None of this felt like science fiction.

It felt normal.

And that's perhaps the biggest difference.

In Europe, we're incredibly good at research, engineering and developing breakthrough technologies.

Shenzhen shows what happens when that talent meets a deeply connected ecosystem of hardware companies, manufacturers and ambitious founders.

The distance between an idea and a real product can suddenly feel much smaller.

As we just launched the European Robotics House and are obsessed with robotics and physical AI, this was easily one of the highlights of the trip.

Huge thanks to Hong Kong Talent Engage, Felix CHAN, Grace Lau, Sandy Tsang, the whole team and our hosts in Qianhai for opening these doors.

We left Shenzhen knowing that we were only scratching the surface.

To be continued 🚀

EuroTech just landed in Hong Kong. 🇭🇰🚀

1,200+ hackathon applicants.
20 of us in Hong Kong.
One insane week ahead.

Together with HKTE, we brought some of Europe's brightest young founders, engineers and hackers to the other side of the world.

And every second was just insane and full of learnings.

In our first 48 hours, we went from learning Cantonese opera to exploring medical robotics labs, meeting AI founders and discovering an entirely new innovation ecosystem.

Some highlights from day one:

🤖 Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks (HKSTP): diving into the local startup ecosystem and the incredible medical robotics research coming out of CUHK.

🧠 Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP): meeting founders building everything from AI-powered drug discovery to new hardware products.

🌏 Northern Metropolis: discovering Hong Kong's ambitious plans to connect research, talent and industry across the border.

🌆 The Peak: because sometimes you need to see the skyline to understand the scale of this city.

What struck us most?

Hong Kong is much more than a global financial hub.

It's positioning itself as a gateway connecting international talent, world-class research and the manufacturing power of the Greater Bay Area.

And the people here are genuinely excited to build those bridges.

Huge thanks to Hong Kong Talent Engage, Felix CHAN, Anna Au, Grace Lau, Sandy Tsang and the teams at HKSTP - Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, HSITP Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park, Cyberport Hong Kong and the FinTech Association of Hong Kong for such an incredible welcome.

The delegation:
Clément Sporrer, Nicolas Bigeard, Farhan ali, Adrian Käser, Marie-Louise Heß, Aleksandr Gorbunov, Alba María Téllez Fernández, Marina Barannikov, Nikhil Rane, Rayan El Idrissi, Stanislas Michel, Ulaş Mısırlıoğlu, Muhammad Moiz, Cem Araz, Batıkan Bora Ormancı, Vladislav Yakunin, Sunatullo Saidzoda, Amirkhon Abdunbabiev, Mirzobehruz Shaidov

Next stop: Shenzhen.

Time to see what happens when AI meets the world's hardware ecosystem. 👀

Your startup can be successful in its home market and still be invisible to AI when it speaks another language. 🌍 🤖

In this article, Petra Smith of @SquirrelsBears, explores how local language can shape whether European #startups are discovered by global AI systems, and why

€54.000 Equity-free. Cash.

That’s what the winning team of TUM.ai E-Lab 6.0 can walk away with.

No equity.
No strings attached.
Just €54.000 to build, provided by AI NATION.

And on top of that:

$25.000 in Google Cloud Credits FOR EACH TEAM from Google for Startups.

Huge shout-out to Axel Täubert & his team for making this possible. 🫶

Last iteration, our AI E-Lab 5.0 Demo Day brought together 1.000+ people.

Founders. Investors. Builders. Researchers.

All in one room to see what can happen when ambitious people stop talking about starting and actually start building.

Now it’s time for E-Lab 6.0 🔥

Maybe this time, it’s your startup on that stage.

Maybe it’s your team taking home the €54k.

Maybe the idea sitting in your Notes app right now becomes the company you spend the next 10 years building.

There’s only one problem:

Applications close TONIGHT, September 27 at 9 PM.

If you're in Munich and serious about building in AI or deep tech, this is your time to shine.

Stop overthinking it.

Just Apply!

€8M+ raised.

By startups that came out of a student-run AI incubator in Munich.

When I was leading the AI E-Lab at TUM.ai, the idea was pretty simple:

Get insanely ambitious technical people into one room.

Give them 12 weeks.

And optimize for one thing: build.

Not startup theory.
Not endless workshops.
Not writing business plans nobody will ever read.

Build the MVP. Talk to users. Break things. Iterate. Pitch. Repeat.

A few iterations later, AI E-Lab startups have raised €8M+.

Founders went on to Y Combinator, EWOR and some of Europe’s top VCs.

And somehow, we’re already entering it's 6th iteration.

The program is still:

→ 100% equity-free
→ Munich-based
→ your own workspace
→ weekly sessions with founders & operators
→ direct access to VCs
→ surrounded by people actually building

You don’t even need a finished startup.

An idea, a prototype (or simply the obsession to build something) is enough.

If you're in Munich and have been thinking:

"I should really start that AI / deep-tech company..."

This is probably your sign.

Applications close Saturday, September 26th at midnight.

Don’t spend another semester thinking about it.

Build it.
