EuroTech just landed in Hong Kong. 🇭🇰🚀
1,200+ hackathon applicants.
20 of us in Hong Kong.
One insane week ahead.
Together with HKTE, we brought some of Europe's brightest young founders, engineers and hackers to the other side of the world.
And every second was just insane and full of learnings.
In our first 48 hours, we went from learning Cantonese opera to exploring medical robotics labs, meeting AI founders and discovering an entirely new innovation ecosystem.
Some highlights from day one:
🤖 Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks (HKSTP): diving into the local startup ecosystem and the incredible medical robotics research coming out of CUHK.
🧠 Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park (HSITP): meeting founders building everything from AI-powered drug discovery to new hardware products.
🌏 Northern Metropolis: discovering Hong Kong's ambitious plans to connect research, talent and industry across the border.
🌆 The Peak: because sometimes you need to see the skyline to understand the scale of this city.
What struck us most?
Hong Kong is much more than a global financial hub.
It's positioning itself as a gateway connecting international talent, world-class research and the manufacturing power of the Greater Bay Area.
And the people here are genuinely excited to build those bridges.
Huge thanks to Hong Kong Talent Engage, Felix CHAN, Anna Au, Grace Lau, Sandy Tsang and the teams at HKSTP - Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation, HSITP Hong Kong-Shenzhen Innovation and Technology Park, Cyberport Hong Kong and the FinTech Association of Hong Kong for such an incredible welcome.
The delegation:
Clément Sporrer, Nicolas Bigeard, Farhan ali, Adrian Käser, Marie-Louise Heß, Aleksandr Gorbunov, Alba María Téllez Fernández, Marina Barannikov, Nikhil Rane, Rayan El Idrissi, Stanislas Michel, Ulaş Mısırlıoğlu, Muhammad Moiz, Cem Araz, Batıkan Bora Ormancı, Vladislav Yakunin, Sunatullo Saidzoda, Amirkhon Abdunbabiev, Mirzobehruz Shaidov
Next stop: Shenzhen.
Time to see what happens when AI meets the world's hardware ecosystem. 👀
