1,200+ applicants.
17 selected.
3 cities.
One unforgettable dive into the heart of China’s tech ecosystem. 🇪🇺🤝🇨🇳
We just wrapped our European startup delegation to Hong Kong, Shenzhen & Guangzhou — bringing some of Europe’s brightest entrepreneurial and technical minds into the Greater Bay Area.
These 15 builders were selected from 1,200+ applicants to the EuroTech Federation x Hong Kong Talent Engage Hackathon and received flight tickets + accomodations, food and an insane trip to experience one of the most exciting technology ecosystems on the planet.
And what a week.
We explored opportunities for Europe × China collaboration, met founders, investors and ecosystem leaders, discovered the latest developments in hardware, AI and fintech, and went deep into Shenzhen, arguably the world’s manufacturing and hardware capital.
There is something fundamentally different about seeing this ecosystem in person.
An idea becomes a prototype in a day
A prototype can become a product in a week
And a product can move toward production at a speed that is difficult to understand until you experience it firsthand. You can literally hold it in your hands after lunch 🤯
But the biggest takeaway wasn’t just technology.
It was the people, relationships and possibilities that emerge when ambitious builders from different parts of the world spend time together.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined and made this delegation what it was:
Clément Sporrer
Nicolas Bigeard
Farhan ali
Adrian Käser
Marie-Louise Heß
Aleksandr Gorbunov
Alba María Téllez Fernández
Marina Barannikov
Nikhil Rane
Rayan El Idrissi
Stanislas Michel
Ulaş Mısırlıoğlu
Muhammad Moiz
Cem Araz
Batıkan Bora Ormancı
Vladislav Yakunin
Sunatullo Saidzoda
Amirkhon Abdunbabiev
Mirzobehruz Shaidov
And a special thank you to the secretary of labor and welfare Mr. Chris Sun as well as HKTE Felix CHAN, Sandy Tsang, Grace Lau and so many more for making this trip possible.
Europe has incredible talent.
The Greater Bay Area has incredible speed, infrastructure and manufacturing depth.
Imagine what becomes possible when we connect the two.
This trip may be over.
The collaborations are only getting started 🚀
