Gold has officially overtaken U.S. Treasuries as the largest reserve asset held by central banks for the first time in decades.

At market prices, official gold holdings are now worth ~$4T+, edging above foreign official holdings of ~$3.9T in Treasuries.

Since 2019, central banks have been on a historic accumulation spree, adding thousands of tonnes of gold as prices surged while Treasury holdings stayed roughly flat.

Gold isn’t just rallying.
It’s becoming the reserve asset again. 🏦⚑️
