BitMEX will permanently shut down its crypto exchange on September 23, 2026, after 11 years of operation 🔒

Founded in 2014, the platform became widely known for its perpetual swaps and crypto derivatives.

On the same day, BitMEX was hit with a lawsuit filed in a U.S. federal court ⚖️

The plaintiffs claim they lost 622.66 BTC, worth about $40.7 million, through forced liquidations 💰

The lawsuit also alleges misuse of customer collateral and insider trading during server outages ⚠️

The plaintiffs seek the return of their Bitcoin, compensation, and punitive damages on behalf of eligible U.S. users.

The court has not yet decided whether the case will proceed as a class-action lawsuit, and BitMEX has not commented yet ⏳
